Reasons To Have An Autumn Wedding

Most couples choose to tie the knot in the spring or summer, but if you’re still undecided about which season you want to get hitched in, don’t be so quick to count out Autumn as an ideal time of year.  Imagine your special day tinged in rich shades of reds, browns and orange as you exchange vows with the love of your life. Sounds pretty romantic to us! Still need some convincing? Here are some great reasons to have an Autumn wedding.

Natural decorations

Besides the amazing hues Autumn offers, there are countless other great wedding decorations that Mother Nature provides. Pinecones, pumpkins, conkers and woodcuts are all great decorations for a rustic-themed Autumn wedding. Try and be as creative and unique as possible when it comes to your décor. For instance, you can fill glass fruit bowls ripe red apples and decorate the base with beautiful flowers to use as centerpieces at your reception. Your guests will enjoy the gentle apple scent wafting up to greet them. This is a simple but stunning arrangement that is crisp and clean just like Autumn.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Temperate Weather

Unlike the steaminess of summer, Autumn usually offers cooler, more enjoyable, weather that’s great for outdoor ceremonies and receptions. Your guests won’t be melting in their dapper suits and fancy dresses, and the chances of an unwelcome heat wave are much more slim. If you’re planning to have a nighttime reception, be prepared by having theme-colored blankets on hand for your guests in case it gets a little chilly.

Comfort Food

One of the best things about Autumn is the seasonal produce available at this time of the year. Make sure you incorporate some seasonal favorites into your wedding menu, such as pumpkin pie, apple crumble and leek soup. Don’t forget to serve up some comfort food as well, which is perfect for cooler temperatures. Our personal favorites are mini grilled cheese sandwiches, mac and cheese sliders, and butternut squash soup.

Autumn is the perfect time to wear an elegant shawl or shrug with your wedding gown. You should choose something that compliments your wedding gown nicely and doesn’t steal the show. Alternatively, you might want to take a more classic approach and wear a classy pair of long sleeve gloves. If you’re all about accessorizing then an Autumn wedding is definitely for you.

Autumn is a truly beautiful time of year, and there are so many unique and gorgeous options when it comes to planning your big day. Not to mention, your wedding photos will look stunning with the most colorful season of the year as your backdrop.
